WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Mrs. Jackie Jenkins Webster, 77, passed away Tuesday Sept. 25, 2012 at Salemtowne Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born in Hillsborough, N.C. to the late Clyde and Elsie Mae Jenkins.
Mrs. Webster graduated from Williams High School in Burlington, N.C. where she met her first husband, Albert Avinger Jr. She was employed by Western Electric and Alamance County Schools, but her main joy came from being an excellent mother and homemaker for her family. She was a magnificent cook and flower gardener, who enjoyed crocheting and singing in the church choir. Mrs. Webster wanted to tell everyone that she loves Jesus!
She was preceded by her second husband, Daniel "Buck" Webster, and her brother, Ed Jenkins.
She is survived by son, Randy Avinger and wife Tracey; daughter, Sandy A. Paisley and husband Greg; grandchildren, Kelly A. Oyan, Mark Avinger, Michelle Paisley, Matthew Jenkins Paisley; great-grandchildren, Noah and Kennedy Oyan; faithful friend and sister-in-law Linda Jenkins; nephews, Steve and Stan Jenkins; and "adopted daughters" Sandra and Hajira Ancho.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday Sept. 28, 2012 at Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington at 4 p.m. with a short graveside committal. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral on Friday at Old Town Baptist Church 4386 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem.
