Richard Hatch, 67, of Mebane passed away at his residence on January 3, 2019. He was the son of the late William and Fannie Hatch. He was an avid race car driver at Ace Speedway and 311 in Madison. He suffered stroke in 2008 but it wouldn’t hold him back. He went back racing in 2009. He was a lead mechanic for Cone Mills for 42 years.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Rhonda Hatch, sons; Brian Hatch (Susan Fitts) and SSG Station Commander Joseph Pope (Jessica), daughter; Candace Wilson (Travis), 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday January 12, 2019 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215. 3, Richard Hatch
