Harold Dean Penland


Harold Dean Penland, 72 of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully at Village Green Health and Rehabilitation on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
He was a deeply loved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick H. and Ruth Cook Penland, a son, Michael Kent Penland and a brother, McKinley Duain Penland.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Simpson Penland of the home, and a brother, Hubert Penland and wife Diane of Burlington, NC, Stepsons Justin McCarty of Jesup, GA and Jay Johnson and wife Kristen of Orange City, FL. Nieces , greatnieces and a great-nephew and a great-great-niece.
After serving in the US Army in Vietnam, Harold completed his education with a BS Degree in Industrial Engineering at East Carolina University. He was a Product Development Engineer with TRW Automotive in Greenville, NC and Purolator Filters in Fayetteville.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at MacPherson Presbyterian Church followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, MacPherson Presbyterian Church Building Fund or a charity of one's choice.
