Catherine Garrison Thomas
Mrs. Catherine Garrison Thomas, 87, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 4:00 a.m.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Aubrey Lee Garrison and the late Frank Thomas and the daughter of Charlie Pearson and Annie Isley Pearson, both deceased. Mrs. Thomas was a retired textile worker and also provided in-home daycare for many children. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the North State Boat Club. Catherine was an avid gardener and also enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Clinton L. Garrison and wife Judy of Burlington and Ronald G. Garrison and wife Karen of Burlington; daughter, Linda Garrison Barefoot and husband Walter of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Pam Garrison of Burlington; two stepsons, Jerry Thomas and wife Gail of Orange Park, FL and Keith Thomas and wife Julie of Elon; stepdaughter, Elaine Trakas and husband Randy of Carolina Beach; and numerous grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Harold Keith Garrison; granddaughter, Bridgett Garrison; and numerous brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Tommy Privette with the family receiving friends from 11:15 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Building Fund, 752 Greenwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27217.
