BROWNS SUMMIT — Theda Herbin Gerringer, 92, of 7181 Brown Summit Road, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 7, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Monticello United United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Owens officiating.
Mrs. Gerringer was a native of Guilford County and the daughter of the late Ira Russell and Ila Faucette Herbin. She was a longtime and faithful member of Monticello United Church of Christ and involved with Women's Fellowship. She was an accomplished cook and enjoyed working in her flowers along with gardening in her yard. Theda cherished her family and provided a loving home through the years. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, William Garland Gerringer; and sister, Sybil Shreve.
She is survived by her children, Kay Wagoner and husband, Frankie of Brown Summit, Doug Gerringer and wife, Beth of Lewisville, NC, and Randy Gerringer and wife, June of Brown Summit; grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Shannon Law, Matthew Wagoner, Max Gerringer and Elley Gerringer; six great-grandsons; sisters, Rachel Troxler and Billie Coltrane.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2012.

William Garland Gerringer, 84, of 7181 Browns Summit Road, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2001, at Monticello United Church of Christ, Monticello, conducted by the Rev. Gary Owens and the Rev. John Jolly. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Guilford County, William Gerringer was born Oct. 21, 1916, to the late Flossie Andrews Gerringer and Lacy Gerringer.
Mr. Gerringer was a former member of the Northeast Civitans and a member of the Stokesdale Masonic Lodge 428, A.F.&A.M., where he also served as master.
Mr. Gerringer was a member of Monticello United Church of Christ, where he served as deacon, and deacon emeritus, Sunday school superintendant, a trustee, and a member of the cemetery committee.
During his career as a high school teacher, Mr. Gerringer taught carpentry at Northeast Guilford High School for 19 years.
Survivors are his wife, Theda Herbin Gerringer of the home; daughter, Kay Wagner and husband, Frankie of Browns Summit; sons, Doug Gerringer and wife, Beth of Lewisville, Randy Gerringer and wife, June of Browns Summit; grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Shannon Law, Matthew Wagner, Max Gerringer, Elley Gerringer; and great-grandchildren, Reid Thompson and Caleb Law.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service and at other times, at the residence.
