BROWNS SUMMIT — Theda Herbin Gerringer, 92, of 7181 Brown Summit Road, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 7, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Monticello United United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Owens officiating.
Mrs. Gerringer was a native of Guilford County and the daughter of the late Ira Russell and Ila Faucette Herbin. She was a longtime and faithful member of Monticello United Church of Christ and involved with Women's Fellowship. She was an accomplished cook and enjoyed working in her flowers along with gardening in her yard. Theda cherished her family and provided a loving home through the years. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, William Garland Gerringer; and sister, Sybil Shreve.
She is survived by her children, Kay Wagoner and husband, Frankie of Brown Summit, Doug Gerringer and wife, Beth of Lewisville, NC, and Randy Gerringer and wife, June of Brown Summit; grandchildren, Amanda Thompson, Shannon Law, Matthew Wagoner, Max Gerringer and Elley Gerringer; six great-grandsons; sisters, Rachel Troxler and Billie Coltrane.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2012.
