GRAHAM - Broadie Sampson Herron, 65, of Route 1, Graham, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at 1:10 o'clock in a Burlington hospital following three and one-half years of failing health. 

A native of Alamance County, Mr. Herron was the son of the late Levi and Dinah Allen Herron. He was a retired brick mason and was a member of Bethel Methodist Church. 

He was first married to Mrs. Martha Sharpe Herron, who died in 1920, and he later married Mrs. Sexie Walters Herron, who survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Eunice Foust of Route 1, Snow Camp, Mrs. Vancie Tingen of Route 2, Graham, Mrs. Annie Bell Hall of Burlington, and Mrs. Bonnie Smith of Graham; one son, S-Sgt. Sampson W. Herron of Edwards Air Force Base in California; one brother, D. H. Herron of Route 1, Graham; three sisters, Mrs. Jennie Allen of Burlington, Mrs. Bertie Allred of Mebane, and Mrs. Josie Wood of Route 1, Graham. 

Funeral rites will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at Bethel Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body was removed to the home this afternoon where it will remain until carried to the church to lie in state from 3:30 o'clock until 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
