BURLINGTON – Miss Nellie Shoffner, 95, of Burlington, passed away at Liberty Commons on Saturday, May 26, 2018.
A native of Alamance County, she was daughter of the late Cletus Shoffner and Janie Clapp Shoffner, and step-daughter of the late Eula McPherson Shoffner. Miss Shoffner retired from Kayser-Roth in 2001 after 61 years.
She was a lifelong member of Low’s Lutheran Church and a former member of the Choir and Ladies Circle.
Surviving are two nieces, Janie H. Sulecki (Richard) of Burlington and Treva H. Hornaday (Terry) of Liberty; great nephew, Bradley Sulecki (Kim), three great-nieces, Emily Sulecki (Chris Jackson), Traci Hornaday and Tamara DiGiorgio (Ian); great-great-nieces, Molly, Adalyn, Margot and Reese.
Nellie was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Huffman and her husband Carson Huffman.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 28, at Low’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor John Mark Beam officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Miss Nellie wanted to thank her family, her cousins, the people at Kayser-Roth with whom she worked, her Church family and her many friends for all they did for her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Commons, as well as Andrew, Veronica, Ann, and Andrea of Liberty Hospice for their loving care during her time of declining health.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
