LORAN J. WILEY, 83

Loran J. Wiley, 83, Hope, died Friday, Feb. 20, 1987 at the Ken-Joy Convalescent Center, Hope.

He was born Nov. 23, 1903 in Decatur County, the son of Walter and Grace Moffett Wiley. He married Pauline Herring on Feb. 9, 1929. She preceded him in death in Oct. 1982.

Wiley was a self-employed excavating contractor. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sibyl Mahaffet, Hope, and Mary Kathryn Merrick, Columbus; one sister, Mary Cox, Westport; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home, Hope, with the Rev. Andy Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Jennings County.

Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home between 4 and 9 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Hope Fire Department-Ambulance Service.
