Betty J. Fike, 85, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Miller's Assisted Living facility in Mooresville. She was a former resident of Bargersville.

Betty was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Indianapolis, to Albert (Ed) and Annabelle Edwards.

She married Clarence E. Fike on June 29, 1946. He survives.

Other survivors include a sister, Joann Martin of Lebanon; two daughters, Linda (Dennis) Cripe of Franklin and Pam (William) Clark of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Cripe of Greenwood, Mark (Jennifer) Lambirth of Indianapolis and Aaron (Lacy) Cripe of Fort Wayne; and seven great-grand­children.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Edwards; and a son, Gary Fike.

Betty graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis in 1944.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Morgantown and the Red Hat Society of Morgantown.

She retired from Sani-Serv in 1988.

Betty received many awards for her oil paintings through her involvement with the Brown County Art Gallery Artists Association.

In addition to her art, Betty loved flying and held commercial, aerobatic and instructor's licenses. Other interests included gardening, cooking and reading.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a celebration of life service at 5 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, 2717 S. Morgantown Road in Morgan­town. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church. A private service for family will be Friday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Green­wood.
