FORSYTH COUNTY, NC - Jack LaFave Peoples, age 80, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, May 2, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center after losing his battle with cancer. 

He was born October 26, 1929 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Luke and Mary "Nanny" Peoples. 

He was a very active member of Edgewood Baptist Church. 

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1983 after 34 years of loyal service. 

Jack also loved spending time at his daughter's business, Debbie's Staffing, which he proudly watched grow from its beginning in 1986. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Marion "Bud" Peoples. 

Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Ruth Morgan Peoples of the home; one daughter Debbie Little (Heinz) of Mooresville, NC, two step granddaughters, Tracey Woodson (Mike) of Winston-Salem, Kelly Rabalais(Brian) of Denver, NC, and two step great-grandchildren, Chandler and Kayla, a brother Joe Peoples (Joan) of Michigan; a sister Brownie Cherry of Winston-Salem; his sisters-in-law Juanita Peoples of Winston-Salem, NC, Marie Rice of Charlotte, NC, Hattie Morgan of Portland, TN, Janette Fisher (Gerald) of Marshall, NC, his brothers-in-law M. T. Morgan (Shirley) of Johnson City, TN, Frank Morgan Jr. (Martha Ann) of Marshall, NC, Joe Morgan of Marshall, NC and many nieces and nephews scattered all over the country whom he loved very much. 

A celebration of his life was held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 5th at Edgewood Baptist Church, 4067 Reidsville Road, Winston-Salem, NC with Dr. Richard Odom, Reverend Joe McWethy and Reverend Shawn Dobbs officiating. Burial followed in Gardens of Memory, 5676 Old Walkertown Road, Walkertown, NC 27051.
