Kenneth Wayne Kernodle
BURLINGTON — Kenneth Wayne Kernodle, age 50, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Hospice Home.
He was born May 1, 1961 to Howard Wayne and Vivian Sharpe Kernodle who survive.
Kenneth was a member at Friendly Lane Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, a sister, Kellie Whitaker and husband James of Burlington; niece, Crystal Page and husband John; nephew, James Whitaker and wife Lee; great niece, Hailey Page; great nephew, Trey Whitaker; grandmother, Frances Sharpe; many special aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dover Sharpe; paternal grandparents, Lonzie and Lula Mae Kernodle; aunt, Jean Kernodle and uncle Marvin Kernodle.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Friendly Lane Baptist Church by the Rev. Craig Cox and the Rev. Danny Miles. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of the parents.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hospice for their generous and loving care of Kenneth.
