Raymond Alphonso Terrell Sr.
ROCKINGHAM — Raymond Alphonso Terrell Sr., 68, of 2062 N U.S. Hwy 1,
died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Manor Care in Pinehurst.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Shelby Jean Foust
Terrell, who survives, and the son of the late Thomas Terrell and Sue Irene
Tate Terrell. He was retired from Daily Seven Inc. as a hotel manager and was
a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict stationed in Panama.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Karen T.
Beal and her husband, Richard “Butch”, and Mrs. Linda T. Sleigher and her
husband, William “Bill”, all of Alparetta, Ga.; a son, Raymond A. Terrell Sr. and
his wife, Shirley of Leesville, S.C.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a
sister, Mrs. Thelma Roney of Burlington; and two brothers, Victor Terrell of
Gibsonville and Clarence “Buddy” Terrell of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Larry Wayne Terrell.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel
by Abbot Patrick Shelton of St. James Catholic Church in Hamlett. Entombment
will be at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 to
8 this evening, and at other times at the home, 2062 N U.S. Hwy 1,
Rockingham.
