Louise Triplett Simpson


    ELON — Louise Triplett Simpson, age 87, of Altamahaw-Race Track Road went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Hospice Home. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Simpson and daughter of the late Sidney and Nevada Triplett of Boone, N.C.
    During World War II she worked with Civil Service at Wright-Patterson Field in Ohio and later at Fairchild Field in Burlington. Louise retired from Glen Raven Mills after 30 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and also a member of the Senior“Care & Share” Club at the church. She also played cards with the “Setback” bunch and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels.
    Survivors include her nephew, Ted Cobb of Sunset Harbor, N.C. and a niece, Donna Beckham of Statesville, N.C.; great-nephews, Mike Cobb of Elon, Richard Cobb of Startown, N.C. and Ed Cobb of Hickory; great-niece, Dinah Prine of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Don, Archie and Arney Triplett; sisters, Rosa Lee Triplett, Thelma Clark, Greta Wakefield and Sadie Hurst.
    Louise was grateful to her faithful neighbor, Betty V. Boone for her friendship over the course of many years.
    The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church cemetery by the Rev. Matt Smith and the Rev. Dave Gilbert. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
