Mrs. Linnie  Phillips Boone 


    ELON — Mrs. Linnie  Phillips Boone , 92, formerly of Boone  Road in the Cherry Grove Community of Southern Caswell County, died August 16, 2006, at the Masonic and Eastern Star Home in Greensboro.
    Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006, at Camp Springs United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    A life long resident of Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late Etta Mae Gwynn Phillips and William Paul Phillips. She was the wife of the late William Lofton Boone . She loved her church, her family, little children, and babies. She simply adored cooking for others and bringing food for various church and charitable functions.
    Survivors include her daughter, Hazel B. Smith of Madison, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law,
J. Daniel Boone  Sr. and Glenda and Henry Boone  and Amy, all of the Cherry Grove Community; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
    Mrs. Boone  will be taken to the Camp Springs United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. today Aug. 18, 2006, and will lie in state until time for the service on Saturday.
    The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, at the church, and at other times the family will be at the residence of Henry Boone , 1802 Boone  Road in the Cherry Grove Community.
    The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Masonic and Eastern Star Home in Greensboro for caring for her in such a loving manner.
    Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville is serving the Boone  Family.
