Nellie Crews Summers, 88, formerly of Brown Summit died Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Clapps Nursing Center. There will be no formal funeral service.
A native of Rockingham Co., she was a daughter of the late Sam Allen and Iris Lee Evans Crews and had lived in Brown Summit most of her life. She was a retired employee of Blue Bell, Inc (Wrangler Jeans) and was a home maker, A member of Friendship United Methodist Church, she enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.
Mrs. Summers was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband: Jack Summers Sr., and by brothers: Pete Crews, Thomas Crews, Calvin Crews and William Crews and by sisters: Doris Stafford and Doris Trash.
Surviving are her daughters: Deborah McLean and Connie Odell both of Greensboro and by her sons: Jack Summers Jr. (Jill) of Summerfield and Linton Summers (Theresa) of Greensboro, her brother: Joseph Crews of Fl., grandchildren: Jeffy Summers, Joshua Summers (Miwa), Justin Summers (Amy), Krystal Odell, and Matthew Odell (Judy), great grandchildren: Taiga, Kento, Conner, & Liam.
