October 24, 1939 ~ January 18, 2025 (age 85)
Mebane – Catherine Bass Barber, 85, of Mebane, NC, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at AuthoraCare Hospice Home in Burlington.
Mrs. Barber was born in Halifax Co., VA and was the wife of the late Norman Hadley Barber and daughter of the late Henry David Bass, Sr. and Mary Katherine Mise Bass.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church and a retired textile employee.
Surviving are a sister, Patricia “Till” Lashley of Climax and a brother Henry David Bass, Jr. of Liberty.
Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Bass and Inez Lineberry; and four brothers, Frank Bass, Lawrence Bass, Hannibal Bass and James L. Bass.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington.
The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM prior to the service.
