Hazel Crouse Bowman
August 19, 1934 - July 9, 2026
Hazel Crouse Bowman, 91, of Burlington, NC passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Harold Ted Bowman and the daughter of Kenneth Wendol Crouse and Nola Brown Crouse, both deceased. She retired from Carolina Biological Supply. Hazel was a member of RockHill Baptist Church, formerly the First Baptist Church of Alamance since 1953, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and listening to the birds. Hazel loved her family deeply and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She considered it an honor to be able to care for them and provide comfort in times of need.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Bowman Garrison (Ronnie) of Burlington, NC and Karen Bowman Deal of Fairbanks, AK; son, Harold Ted Bowman (Angela) of Burlington, NC; six grandchildren, Walt Garrison (Tiffany), Will Garrison (Kirsten), Michelle Deal (Chris), George Deal (Felicia), Hannah B. Sharpe (Daniel), and Sarah Bowman; eight great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Claire, Jackson, Luke, Sadie, Maverick, Addisen and Maggie; sister, Linda Bowman (John) of Durham; sister-in-law, Judy Crouse of Burlington; and her beloved cat, Ellie Mae. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Bowman and brother, Kenneth Crouse.
The funeral service will be held at RockHill Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Justin Brown with the family receiving friends from 10:00 am until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to RockHill Baptist Church, PO Box 190, Alamance, NC 27217 or AuthoraCare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
