HARTSVILLE - Beatrice Brumble Gibbs , 90, of Hartsville, widow of Alfred C. Gibbs, died Thursday, August 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum, Florence, SC.
The Rev. Rob Pierce will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Latta Baptist Church, 202 N. Marion St., Latta, SC 29565.
Born in Dillon Co., SC, August 17, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Winfield Hancock and Bessie Tucker Brumble.
She was a member of Latta Baptist Church and was retired from the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The family would like to thank the staff at Morrell Nursing Center for their love and support.
Surviving are her son, Kenneth (Mary) Gibbs of Hartsville, SC; brothers, Winfield (Windy) Brumble Jr. of Burlington, NC, Douglas Brumble of Hamer, SC, Horace Brumble of Marion, SC; sisters, Doris Chapman of Greenville, SC, Margaret Lee of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Courtney (David) Stanley of Lake City, SC, Jenny (Robin) Jenkins of Florence, SC, Kent Gibbs of Hartsville, SC; great-grandchildren, Callie Jenkins and Gracelyn Stanley.
