Marenda Smith Wilson
ELON - Marenda Smith Wilson, 75, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She was a native of Caswell County and the wife of 57 years to Joseph “Mac” Wilson who survives.
Marenda retired from Stadler’s Country Ham after many years and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Marenda spent many happy hours fishing and she loved her canine companion, “Remmie”.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph “Mac” Wilson of the home; daughter, Lorrie (David) Aldridge of Caswell County; sons, Bryant Wilson of Burlington, Aaron Wilson of Caswell County and Jason (Crystal) Wilson of Caswell county; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Erie McKinney Smith; 1 great grandchild and 1 great great grandchild; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family would like to thank their special neighbors who were so supportive during Marenda’s illness.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Massey. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142
