Obituary Online notes for Carolyn Dell TURNER
KING, NC ~ Mrs. Carolyn Turner Jones, 86, of King passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Salemtowne in Winston-Salem.

Carolyn was born April 12, 1927, in Forsyth County, a daughter to the late Perry Turner and Dora Carroll Turner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J.R. Jones, Jr., three sisters, Emily Wright, Kathryn Turner, and Alice Masten.

She was an active member of King Moravian Church and served in many roles as a member. Carolyn was a homemaker and worked in her husband's medical practice in the community she loved, King. She was a master gardener and gourmet cook who enjoyed entertaining and traveling. Carolyn was passionate about her family, education, and music.

She is survived by three children, Douglas Jones and wife, Debra of King, Logan Jones and wife, Kelli, of Raleigh, and Dorothy "Dottie" Jones of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren who gave her great joy, Courtney Jones-Neal and husband, Boyd of Richmond, VA, Geoff Jones of Asheville, NC, Sarah Jones of Richmond VA, and Kate Jones of Raleigh, NC.

A private inurnment will be held at God's Acre in King.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5th at King Moravian Church with Rev. Dr. Neil Routh officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to King Moravian Church, Education Scholarship or Music fund, 234 West Dalton Road, King, NC 27021.
