IRIS INEZ MORENE

GREENSBORO
INEZ MORENE, 88, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital. Inez was born on August 3, 1926 in Mooresville, the daughter of Archie Zoel and Myrtle Mae Haynes Shumake. 

Iris was a LPN and worked at Friends Homes and retired after 25 years of service. Inez loved to garden, watching her Blue birds, and was an avid Tar Heel fan. She also loved her four legged friend, Chiquita. Inez favorite past time was spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and son Darrell Gatewood. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters; Brenda McFarland of Greensboro and Carole French of Delco; grandchildren, Ashley Gatewood, Shawn Gatewood, Edward McFarland, Eric McFarland, Jennifer Condor and Leslie Keel and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, 1 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
