John William Waddell, Sr.

SAVANNAH - John William "Jack" Waddell, Sr., 90, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Hospice Savannah. He was born in Burlington, NC on July 7, 1921 to the late Edmond and Mary Gibson Waddell. Jack moved to Savannah in 1943 and worked for Pepsi for 35 years. He then went to work for Coca Cola as Operations Manager until he retired in 1986. He was a member of Kirk O' The Isles Presbyterian Church and was also a former member of Hull Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served in many capacities. Jack was member of the Savannah Jaycee's and the Lions Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Edna I. Waddell, of Savannah, son, John W. (Jean) Waddell, Jr, of Cedartown, GA, two daughters, Beverly (Bubba) Mock, of Savannah, and Judy (Buddy) Newton, of Sylvania. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Waddell, of Burlington, NC, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2011 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park. Remembrances may be made to Kirk O' The Isles Presbyterian Church, Hospice Savannah, or the Alzheimer's Association.
