BURLINGTON - Harold Graves Barnwell, 59, of 517 Pine St. died Wednesday at his home.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rich & Thompson Mortuary. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
An Alamance County native, he was a Marine veteran.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Joanne Simpson Barnwell; daughter, Mrs. Karen Johnson of Burlington; sons, Kenneth L. Barnwell, Bobby W. Barnwell, Jerry G. Barnwell, all of Graham; sisters, Mrs. Martha E. Allred of Burlington, Mrs. Rose Allison of Graham; three grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today, other times at the residence of Ruby Simpson, 601 Pine St., Burlington. [38732]

Joann Simpson Barnwell
Mrs. Joann Simpson Barnwell, 85, a resident of Alamance Health Care Center passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at 12:10 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Harold Graves Barnwell and the daughter of Paul James Simpson (Hardrock) and Ruby Braxton Simpson, both deceased. She retired from Annedeen Hosiery and was a former member of Eastside Baptist Church in Mebane.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Johnson and husband William of Graham; two sons, Bobby Wayne Barnwell of Graham and Jerry Glenn Barnwell and wife Tena of Mebane; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Goins and three brothers, Paul Simpson, John Simpson and Glenn Simpson.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, 4373 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road, Graham, NC.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
