Eunice Holt Newlin
Mrs. Eunice Holt Newlin, 93, formerly of Haw River passed away at Mebane Ridge Assisted Living on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 11:50 p.m. She was a great mom who had to raise her family alone after the death of her husband at an early age.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Garland Vance Newlin and the daughter of Benjamin Brower Holt and Bessie Clarke Holt, both deceased.
Mrs. Newlin was a retired secretary at Eastern Alamance High School.
She was an avid Tar Heel fan. Eunice was a lifelong member of Graham Presbyterian Church and very active in the church activities.
She was a Deacon, an Elder and received the Honorary Lifetime Membership of the Women of the Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Tricia Faucette and husband David of Burlington; Clark Newlin and wife Wanda of Haw River and Van Newlin and wife Staci of Graham; eight grandchildren, Vance Newlin and wife Carmen, Chris Newlin, Nathan Newlin, Austin Newlin and wife Katie, Bethany Thomas and husband Austin, Preston Newlin, Abby Faucette and Dave Faucette; and ten greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Newlin was preceded in death by seven brothers, Bruce Holt, Frank Holt, Hal Holt, Junius Holt, Troy Holt, S. B. “Jack” Holt and Jerry Holt and two sisters, Laura Mae Walls and Frances Allen.
The funeral service will be conducted at Graham Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. by Dr. Steve Braswell with the family receiving friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the church parlor.
Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mebane Ridge Assisted Living for the care and kindness extended to Eunice.
