BURLINGTON- Mrs. Denise Sides Upchurch, 60, of Burlington, NC passed away on Thursday August 13, 2020 at the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell. Family services will be held at a later date. The family will be at the home of her mother Shirley at 228 Steele St. Gibsonville. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family

September 13, 1959 ~ August 13, 2020 (age 60)
Mrs. Denise Sides Upchurch, 60, of Burlington, NC passed away on Thursday August 13, 2020 at the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell. A native of Alamance, Co. NC, she is the daughter of Shirley McClain Sides, who survives and the late Pat D. Sides. Denise had many joys and loves in her life. She enjoyed reading Danielle Steele Books, an avid Duke fan, she loved Sonic ice, Chex Mix, lip gloss, shagging at the beach, a good cup of coffee and her Lifetime and Hallmark movies. She loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to Joel Olsteen. Denise was an accountant for 17 years with Mobilift of Burlington and off and on for years at Jack’s BBQ in Gibsonville. Out of all the things in life she enjoyed and loved, nothing could compare to the love and pride of her daughter and her accomplishments. All that knew her could hear her say “WHATEVER”. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving daughter, Chana Brooke Taylor; a brother, Rickey Allen Sides; sisters, Patsy Sides Albright and husband John, Sharon Sides Tucker and husband Mike, Cathy Sides Cook, and Jennifer Sides Turner and husband Chris, many loving nieces and nephews and her special dog, Izzy. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Sides Sutton and brother in law, Randy Sutton; aunt, Marjorie Neill; uncle, Donald McClain; lifelong friend, Keith Taylor and her niece, Kamryn Turner. Family services will be held at a later date. The family will be at the home of her mother Shirley at 228 Steele St. Gibsonville. Donations for Denise may be made to the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
