Jeffrey Blake Thompson Mr. Thompson, 26, of Charlotte died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at his home. Blake was born in Charlotte on August 24, 1983. He graduated from Charlotte Catholic School and received a Bachelor of Finance Degree from UNCC in 2006. He began his teaching career at North Mecklenburg High School and has been a teacher at McClintock Middle School since 2009.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Forest Lawn West Chapel with Pastor Mike Carr officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at funeral home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Johnson Ireland; maternal grandfather, Jesse Johnson; paternal grandfather, Ray Thompson; and step-grandfather, L.A. Ireland.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Maria Thompson; father and step-mother, Randy and Carol Thompson of Stallings, NC; step-father, Charles Ireland of Charlotte; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Johnson of Charlotte; paternal grandmother, Alma Manika and husband John of Daytona Beach, FL; step-grandmother Eunice Ireland, of Charlotte; and mother- and father-in-law, Doug and Sharon Conklin of Waxhaw, NC.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004 or, The American Heart Association, 222 S. Church St., Charlotte, NC 28202. Arrangements are in the care of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
