BURLINGTON – Worda Florence Atkinson Brown, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Roanoke Rapids to the late
William and Lottie Atkinson and was married for 58 years to the late Andy Dale Brown, Sr. who died in 2019.
She was a member of the Whitsett Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and was of the Baptist faith. She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ross and husband, Eddie; a son, Andy “Dale” Brown, Jr. and wife, Maria; grandchildren, Matthew Ross and wife Cody, Samantha R. Brown and husband Brandon, Anna Elizabeth Brown and fiancé Nathan Everhart, and Caroline Nicole Brown; brothers, Troy (Rosemary) Atkinson, Robert (Elaine) Atkinson and Jimmy (Ann) Atkinson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Worda was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 9 siblings.
The graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Alamance Memorial Park. The public viewing will be from 8am to 2pm Saturday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
