Huntsville, Ala.-William Tyre Dodson, 88, of 1091 N.C. 65,died Wednesday, Nov, 3,1999 at Big Springs Specialty Care Nursing Home in Huntsville, Ala. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Reidsville. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, he worked as the county jailer for more than 26 years and later served as magistrate for 10 years. He was preceased by his wife, Louise Walker Dodson. Surviving include his son , David Lee Dodson of Houston, Texas and Daniel Dodson of Huntsville, Ala.; daughters Irene Schecter of Arlington, Va. and Hilda Bye of Charlotte; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mable Holland of Reidsville, Emma Bradshaw of Raleigh, Florence Shotwell and Pencie Dodson of Burlington; and brothers, Roy Dodson of Reidsville, Frank Dodson of Pensacola, Fla., Dudley Dodson of Raleigh, Richard Dodson and Harry Dodson of Burlington. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
