Reidsville-Roy Harvey Dodson, 86, of 152 Stokes Road, died Tuesday, December 30, 2006, at Annie Penn Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 30, at First Presbyterian Church. A native of Rockingham County, he was the son of the late William Gaston and Loula Mae Carter Dodson and had lived in Rockingham Co. Most of his life. Roy retired as the manager of FCX, now Southern States and was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. After his retirement, he loved to raise vegetables in his garden and was the first vendors at the Reidsville Downtown Farmer's Market. Roy was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Dodson; brother Noble Gaston Dodson, William Tyre Dodson, Ephriam Burton Dodson, George Washington Dodson, and Nathan Taylor Dodson; sisters, Pencie Mae Dodson and Florence Mattie Brame Shotwell. Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Agnes Moore Dodson of the home; daughters, Dianne D. Talley of Winston-Salem and Joyce D. Crutchfield and husband, David of Reidsville; brothers, John Dudley Dodson of Raleigh, Harry Lee Dodson of Burlington, Jesse Richard Dodson of Burlington; sisters Emma Elizabeth Bradshaw of Raleigh, Mabel Grey Holland of Bethany; grandchildren, James Anthony Minter, Amy Ann Talley, Lori Summer Shreve, Shana Dianne Shreve, James Dustin Crutchfield; great-grandchildren, Sierra Shreve, and Aidan Moore There will no formal visitation and the family will be at residence. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church 318 S. Main St. Reidsville, N.C. 29320; The American Diabetes Association P.O.
