BURLINGTON – Mr. Joey Thomas Frye, 49, of Burlington, passed away at Duke University Medical Center on Monday, October 14, 2019.
A native of Alamance County, he was retired owner of R & C Grocery. Mr. Frye was of the Baptist Faith, a member of the Thomas M. Holt Lodge #492 A.F. & A.M. and a Shriner. He was son of the late George T. Frye and Faye Steele Frye, who survives.
Also surviving are his wife, Monica Barfield Frye, of the home; 3 sons, Ryan Thomas Frye and Colyn Thomas Frye, of the home and Michael Stinson; sister, Lynn Frye Whited (Keith); 2 nieces, Hannah Whited and Sarah Drier; nephew, Daniel Whited; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Larry Barfield; sister-in-law, Rachelle Barfield (Mike), and brother-in-law, Larry Barfield, Jr.
Mr. Frye was also preceded in death by a nephew, Shannon Reese.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington with Rev. Josh House officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 - 1:45 PM prior to the service and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children , 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
