Obituary Online notes for Irene WASHBURN
Mrs. Irene Washburn Dew, 87, of 517 Mobile St., Greensboro, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Dew was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Rockingham County, the daughter of the late Joe Henry Washburn and the late Maggie Steele Washburn. She loved making ceramics and crafts, was very organized and was a cleaning freak. She was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Taylor Dew; and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Steve Dew of Greer, S.C., Robert Dew Jr. and wife Connie of Stokesdale, Lou Badgett and husband Richard of Winston-Salem, and Ronnie Dew and wife Patsy of McLeansville; sister Margaret Albright of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, in the chapel of Ray Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karen Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, April 26, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Children' s Home, 1001 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
