Elizabeth Wall Coble

August 7, 1928 ~ December 29, 2019 (age 91)

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wall Coble, 91, of Burlington, died Sunday, December 29, 2019. A native of Elbert County, GA, she was the widow of the late Dr. Albert V. Coble and the daughter of the late Thomas Julian and Alice Thornton Wall of Elbert County, GA. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Burlington.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Coble Couch (Charles Jr.), Mrs. Cynthia Alice Coble Allred (Wayne), Mrs. Jane Coble Patterson (Hobart); one son, James Thomas Coble (Tracey), all of Burlington, NC; six grandchildren, Nichole Couch Hadley, Stephanie Allred Harris and Steven Allred, Katherine Nan Patterson, Virginia and Ginger Coble; five great-grandchildren, Layla and Braxton Hadley, Natalie and Emma Harris and Jaden Allred. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Priscilla Wall Hughes of Douglasville, GA.

She was preceded in death by one son, Albert Vernon Coble, II; three sisters, Catherine Wall Apple, Doris Wall Wallace and Carmen Josephine Wall Wallace; and a brother, Thomas Julian Wall, Jr.

A private burial will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.

With heartfelt gratitude, we want to acknowledge all the special caregivers who cared for Elizabeth, not only in her home but also at Brookdale Memory Care and Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
