Mrs. Georgia Marie Somers Stone, age 69, entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, July 14, 2014 at Morehead Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Stone was born in Reidsville on February 5, 1945, a daughter of George Andrew and Molly Maye Somers, both deceased.
She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Lester Stone and her brothers, Harold and Clarence Somers.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda "Gail" Hopkins and friend, Dean Odell of Eden, Joan Fulcher and husband Eugene of Ridgeway; her son, Timmy Newcomb of Eden; her step daughters, Arlene Brim of Madison, Alicia Stone of Eden, Tina Stone of Martinsville; her step son, Wayne Stone of Stoneville; her siblings, Polly Durham and husband Elworth of Reidsville, Carol Gregg of Reidsville, Debbie Roberts and husband Sam of Axton, Va., Ray Somers of Reidsville, Ronnie Somers of Reidsville; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Morehead Nursing Center and Hospice of Rockingham County for their excellent and compassionate care of Mrs. Stone.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home and other times at the home of Gail, in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.
