Johnny Boswell
November 17, 1942 ~ February 21, 2024 (age 81)
John Richard Boswell, II, 81 passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024 at Hospice in Burlington, NC.
Johnny was a lifelong resident of Burlington, NC. He was the son of Mary Etta Johnson Boswell and John Richard Boswell, both deceased.
Johnny was a graduate of Walter Williams High School, an active member of Carolina Christian Church and was the treasurer for the Board of Directors at Faucette Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years. Johnny worked in delivery for Rental Uniform Services and Kleen Fresh until he called it quits. He then opened Johnny’s Custom Caps & T-Shirts and worked for 20 years providing quality products to local businesses and individuals. Overall, he was a man who lived for the weekends where he spent his time fishing at Buggs Island, spending time with his family and lifelong friends, or going to car shows with his wife Connie, showing off his 50 Oldsmobile. He was a jack of all trades…. some he mastered, others he duct taped, but either way he was always willing to give it a try. He was a collector of tools, gadgets, fishing rods and people. He was the giver of many ridiculous but endearing nicknames. If you were fortunate enough to have one, you had it for life and you knew he loved you.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Gregory and his dear wife, Connie Roney Boswell, the most patient woman who ever lived.
He is survived by a son, Rick Boswell and his wife Holly of Holly Springs, NC along with their children, Reed, Anna and Sam He is survived by his granddaughter, Christine Wells of Cary, NC and her children Aubrey, Cameron, Charlee and Trey; two sisters, Sue Cozart and her husband David of Morehead City, NC and Pat Gray and her husband Hilton of Graham, NC.
The funeral service will be held at Carolina Christian Church on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mark Mitchell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham.
Thank you to the Addison of Fuquay-Varina, NC for taking such good care of Johnny over the last three years. He enjoyed being “The Mayor”. We are certain that God has prepared a place for Johnny and imagine that he, Robin and Connie are together fishing somewhere eating a Zack’s hot dog. 261, John Richard Boswell
