PASADENA, TX.
Edward C. Adams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor and friend, died peacefully Thursday morning, November 13, 2014. “Ed” was born February 18, 1925 in Douglas County, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marie Melton Adams, his parents Lewis Wesley and Cordia Mae (Hodges) Adams, one brother, Carl Adams and one sister, Joyce (Adams) Butler.

Ed graduated from Ava High School in 1943 and married his high school sweetheart, Marie, on November 30, 1945. Ed attended the State Teachers College (now SW Missouri State University) in Springfield, Missouri and, for a time, alternated studying with teaching first through eighth grade students in a one-room school building in Green Valley, Missouri.

Ed and Marie moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1960 and soon joined the South Main Baptist Church where they were active members until their deaths. Ed was a Sunday School teacher for 45 years and volunteered at the church’s Family Life Center.
