Obituary Online notes for Jefferson Davis HUGHES Sr.
Jeff D Hughes, Age 96, of Douglasville, [GA], died October 25, 2008. He retired in 1974 as a quality control manager from Armour Company after 41 years of service. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, a founding member of Georgia Crackers 107 Coachmen RV Club, and was their first president in 1975. Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Virginia McGee Hughes and son, James Hughes; survivors include children, Harriett and Bob Hadley of Roanoke, VA, Jeff and Glenda Hughes of Rockingham, NC, Frances Hughes of Memphis, TN, Margaret and Joe King of Douglasville, GA; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Sallie Garvin of Concord, NC. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday (in state 1:30) at Douglasville First United Methodist Church with Rev Terry Phillips and Rev. Max Caylor officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 pm, Monday at Gene-Davis White Columns Chapel in Mapleton.
