Obituary Online notes for Lossie TICKLE
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Lossie Tickle Austin, 89, formerly of 3132 Taylor Street, Altamahaw died at The Oaks of Alamance on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1:30 a.m. following several weeks of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Albert White Austin and the daughter of Charlie Turner Tickle and Mary Mattie Hudgins Tickle, both deceased. Lossie was a member of CrossWay Church which is the former Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Abrahamsen and husband Jim of Burlington; two sons, A. C. Austin and wife Mary of Reidsville and Henry E. Austin and wife Mary of Asheboro; three sisters, Dorothy Murray and Ruby Simmons, both of Burlington and Wonnie Collins of Chapel Hill; six grandchildren, Wes Dodson, Krista Dodson Hunt and husband Sam, Earl Austin, Teresa Austin Cooper and husband Rob, Chad Austin and wife Koren, and Brad Austin; three step-grandchildren, Teresa Theis and husband Doug, Susan Boxell and husband Jeff and Elizabeth Madren and husband Joe; eight great-grandchildren, twelve step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren .

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Hall and Doris Moore and a granddaughter, Christy Michelle Austin.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery, Altamahaw.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Other times they will be at the residence of Dorothy and Carlton Murray, 3679 Mine Creek Road, Burlington.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
