John Reevly Guffey
John Reevly Guffey, 73, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his home in Altamahaw after battling with lung cancer.
A native of South Carolina, Mr. Guffey was the son of the late Erastus R. Guffey and the late Margaret Ensley Guffey.
Mr. Guffey is a veteran of the US Marine Corps and was a self-employed mechanic.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Guffey Shimon and her husband, Scott, of Marquette, MI; two granddaughters, Macie Shimon Huskey and Mindy Shimon; and a brother, Timothy Guffey, of Burlington; his ex-wife, Martha Guffey; a stepdaughter, Ann Pierce; a step-son, Wayne Bates; two nieces, one nephew and one grand-niece.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Guffey was preceded in death by two brothers, William Paul Guffey and Jimmy Ensley and a step-son, Jeff Bates.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM
Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving . friends at John’s home in Altamahaw.
