Dorothy Lucille (Lowe) Hardy

April 24, 1921 ~ August 26, 2020 (age 99)

Dorothy Lowe Hardy, 99, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 26, 2020 at The Oaks of Alamance after an extended stay. 

   Dorothy was born on April 24, 1921 in Guilford County to the late Jason R. Lowe and Maude Brown Lowe. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed her cooking and her sweet nature was a joy to everyone she met.

Dorothy was a life-long member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and served in many capacities there throughout her lifetime. She will be missed by her family and church and friends at The Oaks.    

   Survivors include her son, Tim Hardy and wife, Donna; grandchildren: Brandon Hardy and wife, Katelyn, and Kristen Hardy Moore; sisters: Audrey Barham, Leo Wood, and Becky Barber; great grandsons: Noah and Grayson Hardy; and many nieces and cousins.

   Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hardy and her son, Wayne Hardy and an infant daughter; and sisters: Geneva Clapp, Joann Kernodle and Lorene Grogan.

     A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the interment to follow at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The body will be available for viewing on Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. You may view the funeral service on Friday, August 28, 2020 on the funeral home website if you are unable to attend.

   The family would like to extend a huge thanks to all who visited her at The Oaks, especially her family and church family. They always brought a smile and appreciation for their visits.
