Burlington - Mrs. Jean Evans, aged 92, of Burlington died on December 14, 2020 following a long illness. She was born in Alamance County, NC on October 8, 1928 to the late John Monroe Bouldin and Alice Wilkins Bouldin. She is predeceased by a son, Bobby Lee Evans and her husband of 55 years, Irvin Ray Evans.
Jean attended Altamahaw Ossipee School, graduating in 1945. She also attended Elon College. She was employed by Glen Raven Fabrics and Burlington City Public Schools. Jean was a loyal member of Faith United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She volunteered for the ARC and helped to found a class for children with intellectual disabilities where her son attended school.
A graveside service will be held at Alamance Memorial Park on December 22nd at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lee Edwards officiating. Lowe Funeral Home is assisting the family. Participants are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Survivors include daughter Carolyn Evans Long and her husband D. Alan Long of Barboursville, Va. Jean is also survived by her brother, John McDonald Bouldin and his wife Leigh and her beloved nieces and nephews.
