John "Don" Macdonald Bouldin
February 7, 1931 — May 18, 2025
Graham

John "Don" MacDonald Bouldin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 18, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 7, 1931, Don lived a life rich with experience, laughter, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

For over 40 years, Don dedicated himself to the textile industry, eventually becoming part owner of Tabou Dying and Finishing. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every task he undertook, earning him great respect among his peers. Beyond his professional achievements, Don served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, an experience that shaped his character and deepened his commitment to service.

Don was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church for more than four decades, where he found solace and community alongside his fellow parishioners. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both challenges and celebrations.

In his personal life, Don was a man of simple pleasures. He had a particular fondness for flowers and gardening, often spending hours outdoors cultivating his beautiful garden. He was a great storyteller, he could tell a story and you would feel as if you were there. Don would ride golf carts around the neighborhood it brought him joy, as did the cherished moments spent with his family and friends. He treasured the weekly visits from his dear friend Andy Jackson, whose company he valued immensely.

Don leaves behind his beloved wife of over 50 years, Leigh Lawhon Bouldin; children, Donna Morton, John Bouldin (Robyn), Linda Bouldin, Bonnie Bouldin, George Bouldin, and Wanda Johnson (Paul). His legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; John Monroe and Alice Wilkins Bouldin; daughter, Debbie Stanley and a sister; Jean Evans. He also leaves behind his furry companion D. J.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home. Pastor David Jackson and Pastor Thom Blair will officiate, with the committal to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45am prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like give special thanks to AuthoraCare and granddaughters, Stephanie McKinney and Ashleigh Bailey, who assisted in his caretaking.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to AuthoraCare Collective, Burlington or Disabled Veterans.
