Obituary Online notes for Elizabeth Sue GERRINGER
Elizabeth Mihalic, 77, of Casa Grande, AZ passed away with her loving family by her side on July 7, 2018. She was born on August 8, 1940 in a tobacco barn in Gibsonville, NC to Charlie Gerringer, Sr. and Lottie Flynt.
Elizabeth was a giver; she wanted people to know someone cared. Her husband described her as a great gal who was always nice. Even though she had her own children, she often took care/babysat children that she would call her own. In her local community she would send out cards for residents’ birthdays, Christmas, making sure they received something special on their day. She was very patriotic and helped her husband in the VFW; additionally she was a scout leader in Casa Grande for Troop 149.
Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, often refurbishing old toys for her children; her son remembers a special teddy bear she restored. She was an excellent baker, and her kids enjoyed her peanut butter cookies. Elizabeth liked to go karaoke and was known as the “Sunshine Lady” where she resided. She supported the Arizona Diamondbacks and Goldie was her favorite player. She loved Elvis and George Strait. She worked as a professional dough master for Pizza Hut.
Most important to Elizabeth was spending time with her children and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charlie Gerringer, and a baby sister, Mary Magdalene Gerringer.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Mihalic II, two children; John Mihalic III (Tabitha), Jo Ann Mihalic (Carlos), 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters; Arlene Graves, Charlene McKenzie, Ginger Koch, and brother Glenn Gerringer.
No services will be held, in her words; “if you like to remember me, do it with a kind word or gesture to someone who needs it”. 470, Elizabeth Sue Gerringer Mihalic
