Mr. Donnie Ralph Campbell
ELON — Mr. Donnie Ralph “Buzz” Campbell, 50, of 2270 Elon-Ossipee Road, passed away Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home after heroically battling with cancer for more than four years. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Joyce Sutton Campbell, who survives, and the son of Jim Henry Campbell and Verona Edwards Campbell, both deceased. He was medically retired from Honda Power Equipment after 15 years of service. He was a member of Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Ms. Leslie Nicole Campbell of the home; a son, Donald Ray (Tammy) Campbell of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Geneva Byrd and Mrs. Lavern Roscoe, both of Burlington, Mrs. Marie Hardee of Chapel Hill and Mrs. Cathy Webster of Yanceyville; and two brothers, Dewey Campbell and Jimmy Campbell, both of Burlington. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Delmar Scotton, pastor; the Rev. Danny Stephens, retired Pentecostal pastor; and the Rev. Beacham Hoyle, retired Pentecostal pastor. Burial will be in Bethlehem Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
