Homer Bernell Miles
Homer Bernell Miles, 89, of 125 Caswell Drive, went home to be with The Lord Thursday, October 12, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Camp Springs Community Church with Rev. Scott Reavis officiating and the burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Bernell was born in Caswell County and was the son of the late Lee and Rena Underwood Miles.
He retired from Burlington Industries with over 40 years of service. Bernell was a longtime and faithful member of Camp Springs Community Church, and his family and friends knew him as a nice, quiet, gentle man; always kind to everyone. Always a servant, he was a member of the Cherry Grove Ruritan Club and the Cherry Grove Fire Department where he volunteered for over 40 years. Bernell loved his family and was an avid fisherman.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Wheeler Miles with over 50 years of marriage; daughter-in-law JoAnn Miles; sisters Louise Miles Oliver and Eva Miles Walker; and brothers Felton Lee Miles, Otis Ervin Miles and William Elbert Miles.
Bernell is survived by his son Jonathan Miles; sisters Hazel Miles Ammons, Elsie Miles Ammons and Lois Miles Lee; brothers Robert Abner Miles and Harvey Carl Miles; and a large extended family.
