Gladys Stanley Miles
   GIBSONVILLE, N.C. — Mrs. Gladys Stanley Miles, 83, formerly of Power Line Road, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at Hospice Home

   A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late David Dodson and Myrtle Page Stanley and wife of the late Otis E. Miles, who passed away in 1998.

   Mrs. Miles was a member of First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, was active in the reading program at Gibsonville Elementary School and was a member of the Minnie Jackson Doll Club where she made porcelain dolls. She had been employed by Dixie Belle Textiles, worked as a sitter for seniors and with child care.

   Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Miles Litten and husband Steven and Hope Miles Neese and husband Tony, all of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Holly L. Clark and husband William, Jenny L. Margrave and husband Chris and Ryan M. Gerner and wife Amanda; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgranddaughter; brothers, Otis Stanley and Junior Stanley; sisters, Elsie Martin, Lillie Belle Murphy, Mary Haynes, Shirley Busick and Rachel Matthews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Annette Gerner; brother, Ralph Stanley ; and sister, Irene S. Paschal.

   The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by the Rev. Jim Upchurch and the Rev. Julian Griffin. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.

   Mrs. Miles will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.

   The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday and at other times at the home of her daughter, Hope Neese, 7153 Powerline Road, Gibsonville.

   Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, 221 Piedmont Ave., Gibsonville, NC 27249.
