Martha Elizabeth Inman Miles
BURILNGTON - Martha Elizabeth Inman Miles, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Edgewood Place surrounded by her family.
She was born in Alamance County to the late Walter Emerson Inman and Eva Watt Hutson Inman Hutchens and was married for 54 years to Harvey Carl Miles who survives. Martha was a lifetime member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She also worked with the Girls Auxiliary at the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey Carl Miles, daughter, Penny (Jerry) Compton; son, Alan (Sharon) Miles; grandchildren, Heather (Lee) Darden, Chelsea (Taylor) Bundren; great grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Darden; brother, Edward (Edna) Riley Inman and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert Lee Inman and Franklin Emerson Inman.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 13, 2017 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Bob Stephenson and Rev. Jim Wrenn with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6 Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home of her son, Alan Miles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Ministry at Glen Hope Baptist Church, 911 North Ave., Burlington, NC 27217.
