November 23, 1940 ~ February 15, 2021 (age 80)
Judy Edwards Sutton, 80, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at McWhorter House Hospice in Union County.
Judy was a native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Zona Pike and Erwin Edwards and the wife of Riley Lee Sutton. She devoutly attended many different churches throughout the years and cherished each one of her church families. Judy thought for herself and had an adventurous spirit, and she and her family traveled and lived many places over her lifetime. She worked in accounts receivable in Saudi Arabia, Dealer’s Supply Company in Durham, North Carolina, and eventually retired from LabCorp after nearly 20 years with them. She was a very loving and caring woman and made friends anywhere that she went. She filled the lives of everyone she knew with warmth and laughter. Judy was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother and not a single person that she met were not reminded of how much she adored her family.
She is survived by her husband, Riley Lee Sutton; son, Brent Lee Sutton and wife Luz Mery Zapata Acevedo of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Peyton Lee Sutton, Morgan Tatum Sutton, and Natalie Zapata Acevedo; brother Tony Edwards and wife Leanne Edwards. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Annie Carol and husband Neal Smith, and Sylvia and husband Joe Loy who survives.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 Friday in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington by Rev. Steve Goode, pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Greensboro. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Sutton will be available for viewing from 1:00pm until 4:00pm on Thursday.
