ELON - Larry Alton Simpson, 77, of 2651 Elon-Ossipee Road, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
He was a native of Alamance County, retired textile supervisor and member of Pilgrim Chapel Baptist Church for over 20 years. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Russell and Dorothy Jordan Simpson; son, Dennis A. Simpson and two brothers-in-law.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Martin Simpson; son, Randy Lee Simpson; special furry daughter, Lady; grandson, Timmy Lee Simpson and girlfriend Megan Ray; step-granddaughter, Ashley Brown; great-grandchildren, Larissa and Allie; sisters, Margie Ward and Sandra Hawkins; brother-in-law, Lee Martin and wife Peggy; and daughter-in-law Melinda
Simpson.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at Alamance Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Mike Jones. The family will receive friends at the residence.
