Lonie F. Painter, aka Katie was born March 13, 1886 in the Flat River Township of Person County, North Carolina, a daughter of William J. ‘Bill’ Painter (1859-1937) and Mary Elizabeth Yarboro, aka Mollie Bet (1858-1929).
She was a grand daughter of James Madison Painter (1840-c1869) and Susan Margaret Dixon (1838-1917); a great granddaughter of Solomon Painter (c1813-c1863) and Minerva J. Hicks (c1815-unkn); a 2nd great granddaughter of James Wyatt Painter (c1773-c1861) and Betsey Clayton (1773-c1825).
First appearing in the records in the 1900 census of Flat River Township in Person County, Lonie was listed as LF Painter, living with her parents William and Mollie and five siblings.
Lonie Painter married Sam D Wilkins April 26, 1903 at the home of her parents in Flat River Township of Person County, North Carolina. Her uncle, J. R. Yarboro made the application for the marriage license.
