Obituary Online notes for Vivian MASSEY
Vivian M. Hutchens Ward, 72, of 5119 McLeansville Road in Greensboro went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 1995, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Ward was born in Sandsville, Va. to George and Jennie Bryant Massey on February 21, 1923. Mrs. Ward retired from George C. Brown Cedar Products, was a member of Buchanan Baptist Church and often visited McConnell Road Baptist Church. She first married Howard E. Hutchens who died in 1977 and later married Robert Ward who died in April of this year.

Surviving are sons, Wayne E. Hutchens and Melvin L. Hutchens, both of Gibsonville and Eldee C. Hutchens of Julian; daughters, Evon H. Craig of Whitsett, Darlene H. McArthur of Greensboro and Christine H. Stewart of Liberty. Also surviving are her brother, Lonnie Massey of Axton, Va. and five sisters, Thelma Hruska of Eden, Pearl Pietrowski of Old Mystic, Conn., Era Hankins of Axton, Va., Goldie Rogers of Winter Haven, Fla., Geneva Hughes of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Wright and the Rev. Gene Lawhorne officiating. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
